Tinaguriang "Pictorial Queen" noong 1980s, "Grand Slam Actress" noong 1990s, si Lorna Tolentino ay isa sa mga artistang nagsimula bilang child star na lalong sumikat noong naging mature actress na. Unang pelikula niya ay sa FPJ Productions' "Divina Gracia" bilang batang Susan Roces at muling inilunsad bilang sexy star sa "Dulce Amor, Ina' ng Seven Star Productions noong mid-70s. Sa pamamagitan ng pelikulang "Moral" na dinirek ni Marilou Diaz Abaya noong 1980, pinatunayan niya na hindi lamang siya sex symbol kundi maaasahan din ang kanyang galing sa pag-arte. Simula noon, si Lorna ay nagpamalas ng galing sa pag-arte at sa pelikulang "Maging Akin Ka Lamang" ay nanalo siya ng "Best Actress" sa lahat ng award-giving bodies sa Pilipinas.
Si Lorna ay asawa ni Rudy Fernandez, isa ring sikat at premyadong aktor at mga dalawa silang anak: si Raphael Gregor at Renz Marion.
